I went through the steps and "google" each step for failures, for example, the first step was to restore the iphone so i searched for "failed to restore the iphone" and i got so many suggestions on how to avoid that during the process. I did similar thing throughout the step by step guide while going through it.
Below is the summary of what i did to get the iphone unlocked:
- download the latest itunes from apple.
- install/upgrade itunes.
- download the latest version of the iphone software. The current version is 2.2.
- download QuickPwn2.2 , BL3.9 and BL4.6 .
- Place all downloads on one folder that is easily accessible.
- restore iphone using the iphone restore software downloaded.
- unzip QuickPwn2.2 to the same directory and and run it.
- Select the same file you used during restoration.
- select unlock iphone.
- select the bl3.9 and bl4.6 repectively.
- Follow the remaining of the instructions diplay on the screen as the process goes on.
- wait for few minutes to allow your iphone to flash and jalibreak the OS.
- thats all.. Now your iphone can work with any carrier. You can follow the screenshots from this link.

Very cool - the iPhone's pretty big over here right now. What's the situation with it there? Do a lot of people have it? And a big thing with it here is downloading applications from the app store - can you do that there?
Its not much here. Saw few people with it. Besides that technology to be used fully is not yet available in the gambia, like having hotspots everywhere for internet connection or some ISP providing connection to your device. You can definitely download apps. What Dra does is to connect his iphone to a wireless network like in our office, assign the device an ip and then he can do whatever he wants. I downloaded an ebook and i was using it. Pretty cool stuff.

I Have the Iphone 3G myself with the 3.0 software version. Jailbreak and unlocked it myself using redsnow. I gotta say bet network to use the Iphone 3G on is Qcell, with their 3G capabilities you can have access to the full functionality of the iphone. I was at farafenni last week and i was send e-mails and checking my facebook account on my iphone.
